 My cold frame design has gone through many versions and design tweaks over the years. I have settled on the 5′ x 3′ size as the biggest I can make that allows me to move the coldframe myself. The cold frames are easy to pick up and move, easy to open to water and ventilate, hold up over the years, withstand wind, snow and rain. I still have a cold frame that is going on 15 years old.

  The video and PDF instructions are designed to use together to show you exactly how I make my coldframes.

  I use several of these coldframes in my garden to get my starts going early, protect frost sensitive crops and cover plants in the fall. Season extension is a game changer for year round gardening. It can give your early crop s a boost and extent the harvest of summer crops in the fall.
